What it is
OxyFresh is a liquid oxygen source used wherever low dissolved oxygen conditions exist. By raising oxygen and ORP it removes the septicity behind odors and suppresses the low-DO filaments that cause bulking and poor settling. Lagoon dosing is about six gallons per acre per day at six feet of depth.

How it works
Unlike an odor neutralizer, this works on the cause. Adding a liquid oxygen source raises dissolved oxygen and oxidation-reduction potential in the water, which removes the anaerobic conditions that generate hydrogen sulfide and the other septic odor compounds in the first place.
The same oxygen shift suppresses the filamentous organisms that thrive in low DO conditions, named by the manufacturer as Thiothrix species, Type 021N, Haliscomenobacter hydrossis and Sphaerotilus natans or Type 1701. Those are the bulking filaments behind poor settling, so the settling benefit and the odor benefit come from the same mechanism.
Because it is liquid, it goes where equipment cannot. Collection systems, influent wells, lift stations and sludge holding tanks are all places with a genuine low-DO problem and no realistic way to install aeration, which is where this earns its place over a mechanical answer.

How you prove it worked
Re-profile dissolved oxygen and ORP at the treated point rather than relying on the absence of smell. For settling problems, track your settleability test and microscopic filament identification, because that is the measure that shows whether the population actually shifted.
Low dissolved oxygen is the condition underneath several problems that get treated as separate ones. Septic odor, bulking filaments, poor settling and slow treatment all trace back to the same shortage, which is why a single oxygen intervention can move several numbers at once.
In a lagoon cell, the durable answer to that shortage is aeration equipment, because it supplies the whole basin continuously and a liquid consumable does not. The places a liquid source genuinely wins are the ones where aeration was never an option: a collection system, an influent well, a lift station, a sludge holding tank. Those have real low-DO problems and no mechanical answer.
The other honest use is temporary. Warm weather and overload periods push a marginal cell past what its aeration can hold, and dosing oxygen through that window is cheaper than sizing permanent equipment for a peak that happens six weeks a year.

Common questions
How is this different from an odor neutralizer?
A neutralizer destroys odor compounds already in the air. This raises dissolved oxygen so the compounds are never produced. One is relief, the other is a fix. Most sites with a real odor problem end up using both, in that order.
Can it replace aeration?
In a lagoon, no. Aeration equipment supplies a whole cell continuously and this is a consumable dosed daily. Where it genuinely earns its place is collection systems, influent wells, lift stations and holding tanks, which have real low-DO problems and no realistic way to install aeration.
Will it fix my settling problem?
If your settling problem is caused by low-DO filaments, then raising oxygen removes their advantage and the population shifts over a week or two. Confirm with microscopic filament identification first, because a settling problem with a different cause will not respond.
How much do I need for my lagoon?
